FIRE, BAPTISM,

Luke 12:49-53

Contrary to your bulletin, our subject will be different this morning.
I hope you will open your Bibles to the Gospel of Luke, chapter number
12. Luke 12, reading verse 49 through verse 53. Luke 12, 49 through
53. Jesus is speaking. He said:
49"I am come to send fire on the earth, and what will I if
it be already kindled.
5OBut I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how am I
straightened til it be accomplished.
5lSuppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell
you, nay, but rather division;
52for from henceforth there shall be five in one house
divided, three against two, and two against three.
53 The father shall be divided against the son, and the son
against the father, and the mother against the daughter, and
the daughter against the mother, and the mother-in-law
against her daughter-in-law, and the daughter-in-law against
her mother-in-law."

Let's go to the Lord in prayer together. Father, in this hour, show us

again how to put aside all of those weights and all of those conflicting

thoughts that keep us from centering our total attention upon thee.

Dear Lord, now I pray that Xou will speak, and let me get out of the way
so that@lhy word and@khy truth might be clear and plain and ever so
penetrating to our hearts and to our lives. Yea, may we never be the
same because l@hou hast dealt with us in this place at this time, is our
prayer, in the strong holy name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
