Ephesians: Who Am I? Discovering Our True Identity

Ephesians 4:4-13
Today we are continuing the ‘‘Discovering our Identity’’ series - walking through the book of Ephesians. If you have your Bible, I want to encourage you to join me in [Ephesians chapter 4].
When Paul wrote this letter to the believers in Ephesus, he wrote it in sections. For instance, when you read the first 3 chapters... he wrote about doctrine (and showed these believers who they were in Christ) ... but then in chapters 4 -6, he switches gears and shows us as believers... how to live out that doctrine... as the church, in our day-to-today lives.
So, first, Paul explained the wealth that’s available to those of us ‘‘in Christ’’ and now he’s going to show us how to walk in that wealth... He’s going to show us how we can steward what God’s blessed us with and accomplish our God-given purpose.
Listen-we’ve got one shot to get this right! We have one life to live... so we might as well live it... in a way that’s pleasing to God! Amen?
What makes a team successful? This week I was thinking about some of the most successful teams and franchises in the history of sports... I thought about storied franchisees like the Yankees or the Cowboys or the Chicago Bulls of the 90’s ... I thought back to the Celtics of yesteryear... or the New England Patriots of the early 2000’s... or the Golden State Warriors of late...
...and as I thought about ‘what sets these teams apart,’ I asked- what is it that makes a TEAM... special? What makes a franchise successful? (I narrowed it down to 5 words... or 5 key ingredients that make up a successful team)
? Victory-a winning team knows how to win on the field and accomplish its mission.
? Growth-a winning team grows its fanbase. (People are drawn to a winning team)
? Development-a winning team develops its players and never stops getting better.
? Vision-winning teams are always looking forward and preparing ...
