GETTING AND GIVING
II Corinthians 8:1-12
1 think it would be appropriate if I explain several things to people.
Number 1, we are camping out this morning. It's not finished. Number
2, the sound is not what it will be, so I don't want a lady going home
and saying, "I heard that echo everywhere in the new church." We have,
I don't know how many horns up there in that thing. We have about three
of them working and it's not balanced, the carpet's not in, it's unfin-
ished. The third thing I want to say is to our visitors. We're de-
lighted you are here. We're thrilled that you came to share in this
service, we're going to talk about money and it's always thrilling to
present the stewardship claims of God upon the lives of individuals.
The fourth thing I would say, when everyone is seated, if you would be
unusually still because we hear so much in here. I know you've noticed
that. So, one person moving after we're settled in here in just a few
moments, will disturb everybody. The last thing I would like to say is,
we'll clean all the suits and pants and do all the washing for these
young people. Aren't they great to come and sit down here?
Open your Bibles to II Corinthians chapter number 8. II Corinthians,
chapter number 8. We're going to consider this morning verse 1 through
verse 12. II Corinthians 8:1-12 as we go to the Lord in prayer.
Father, we pray that a holy hush will fall upon this your service. May
we not be distracted by anything or by anybody. Give us total
