JESUS IS LORD!
I Corinthians 12:1-6

This morning we're going to look at I Corinthians chapter number 12,
verse 1 through verse 7, but prior to that, we're going to look at the
9th verse of the first chapter of I Corinthians. Let's go to the Lord
in prayer together.

Father, I pray that your words will speak through my mouth. That our
ears will hear your words and will be nurtured because you have taber-
nacled among us. You speak, 0 Lord, let me get out of the way so that
Thy word and Thy word alone might be heard. For we make this prayer in
Jesus' name. Amen.

As we go to I Corinthians chapter 12, we began a new division in our
study of this great epistle of the Apostle Paul. Let's go back and get
an overview of I Corinthians so that we will know where we are. To
outline I Corinthians is really an easy task. Chapter I , verse 1
through verse 9, is the introduction. And the theme of I Corinthians is
that 9th verse. Let's look at it together. I Corinthians 1 verse 9:
9 God is faithful, through whom you were called into fellow-
ship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

That verse says that the primary purpose of life is to have fellowship
with Jesus Christ. Everything about I Corinthians deals with knowing

Jesus Christ, personally as a friend and having fellowing with Him as a
friend, as Savior, and as Lord of life.

So, I Corinthians, chapter I through ... verse I through verse 9 is an
introduction. The first chapter of I Corinthians, the 10th verse
through the llth chapter deals with carnalities. Carnalities. Paul
talks about temptations, he talks about the grey areas ...
