COVERED OR UNCOVERED: THAT IS THE QUESTION

I Corinthians 11:2-16



... Bibles to our passage this morning in I Corinthians, chapter number

11, as we bow our heads for prayer together.

Dear Father, we trust that you will tabernacle among us in this hour.
We are here expectantly before Thy throne of grace. Some here need a
word of encouragement, a word of faith, a word of hope, a word of
assurance; others need a word of warning, a word of judgment, a word of
wrath, a word of fear. Lord, we know that Thou doest heal and Thou
doest help but Thou doest convict and Thou doest convince. We wait in
Thy presence-know-7.ng that You have iust that word- for us, So, tt-inp- Clur
hearts and our lives and our minds that will not miss it. You speak,
let me get out of the way so that Thy word and Thy word alone might be
heard, received, and applied into our lifestyles. For we make this
prayer in the strong name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
We know that chapter 11 of I Corinthians has been a battleground in our
modern world. It deals with male authority and female submission. And
as the secular world has been engaged in a woman's liberation movement,
or the feminist movement, we see this kind of thinking has invaded the
church. And many of us have been confused at this point because the
problem is we do not know the clear teaching of the Bible concerning the
male's role and the female's role in our society.
