Thanksgiving is a big deal around our house, because it is one of the few times a year that everyone in our family gets together. We have some traditions that we always observe, as my family and our son-in-laws family always go to IHOP to eat, which is always a fun time.
The list of food is huge as we go to the grocery store to buy all of the needful items. The kitchen is overflowing with the aroma of Thanksgiving food, the turkey, the dressing, and all of the desserts. It is such an awesome time of the year, as we all get together and eat, then I always slip away to watch football, while my wife, daughter, mother-in-law, and all of the other women sit around talking, before the evening ends with us eating some of the leftovers.
Then comes the day after, better known as ‘‘Black Friday’’ and the holiday is really in full swing as cars lineup everywhere so that people can find those bargains. The hustle and the bustle of the holiday is a bit frantic and if we are not careful, we will forget that we are celebrating ‘‘Thanks - Giving’’ or ‘‘Giving - Thanks.’’ We must guard against forgetting to be thankful or Thanksgiving Holiday will be no different than any other holiday.
