In many moments... and even in movies... when a group of people are facing a monumental task or challenge... there’s typically some kind of rally cry that motivates them to move forward.

I think about pep rallies in high school: Every Friday during football season, our entire school would pack into the gym... and it didn’t matter who we were playing that week... by the time we left the gym and headed back to class... Everyone believed we were going to win. The rally was motivating.

I think about movies like ‘‘Miracle’’ where Kurt Russell’s character was coaching the US Hockey Team... and they were massive underdogs against the Soviets... but he got before his team and rallied them, saying:

‘‘Great moments are born in great opportunity. And that’s what you have here tonight, boys. That’s what you’ve earned here tonight. One game. If we played ‘em ten times, they might win nine. But not this game. Not tonight. Tonight, we skate with them. Tonight, we stay with them. And we shut them down because we can! Tonight, WE are the greatest hockey team in the world.’’

He was saying-the time is now... to do the impossible. It was a rally cry. And they believed him... and the won.

Or how about William Wallace in the movie ‘‘Braveheart’’... as he was motivating his men to defend their land... He said, ‘‘...you can tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they’ll never take our freedom!’’ Do you remember that scene? -He screamed that same word once again, and reminded them in that moment, what was most important... right before his death... He yelled they word... ‘‘FREEDOM!’’

There have been so many ‘locker room moments’ ... ‘rally cry moments’ throughout history that have motivated men to do something great... rally cry moments that have empowered people to achieve the improbable... to experience the impossible.
