Ephesians: Who Am I? Discovering Our True Identity

Ephesians 3:1-13
The world we live in... loves sports.
That’s why we fill stadiums and spend crazy sums of money to watch our favorite teams compete. We track statistics... we play fantasy sports online... we watch sports channels on TV... that do nothing but show the same replays over and over again... and yet, we watch them on repeat, because we love sports.
Times have changed, haven’t they? When I was growing up, there were like 8 sports, TOTAL. But today, there are hundreds of sporting events being played around the world, professionally.
People are now playing professional pickleball and competing in professional arm-wrestling tournaments. Did you know that? There are people now getting paid for playing professional cornhole and tug of war... I was watching TV the other day and came across the championship round... of professional face slapping... (it’s real, look it up). These grown men were taking turns slapping each other in the face... really hard! ...and winner of this tournament, at the end of the day... walked away with $470 American dollars and a severe concussion... (no thanks).
Sports are out of control. There are hundreds of them today. But do you know, which sport came first? The oldest form of organized sport was... Track and Field. In fact, the first ever Ancient Olympic Games was held in Olympia, Greece in the year 776 B.C. ... and in those games, there was only one contest: The Stadion Footrace.
The world came together for this one race: 20 runners competed... in a 200-yard sprint (or 180 meters if you want to get really technical). 20 men ran... 200 yards... And the winner took the Gold. [Oh... And by the way... all 20 runners, ran completely naked.] That has nothing to do with this message, but it’s true, and I thought you needed to have all the facts.
How many of you ran track? And out of you who ran, how many of you loved ...
