SILENCE TO SAINTHOOD
Matthew 10:3
Well , it's been a day of rain. We needed rain, didn't we? We must
have, God sent it; and He doesn't make any mistakes. And that's always
good news.
Tonight, open your Bibles, if you would, to Matthew chapter number ten.
Beginning with verse one. Matthew ten, verse one:
1 And having summoned His twelve disciples, He gave them
authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to
heal every kind of disease and every kind of sickness.
2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: The
first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother;
and James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;
3 Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax-
-gatherer; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus;
4 Simon the Zealot, and Judas Iscariot, the one who betrayed
Him.
Let's pray together. Father, we bow our heads and close our eyes and
speak words and we call it prayer. But help us to see, Lord, that
prayer is real when the words that we utter flow from the depths of our
hearts. Forgive us, Oh Lord, when we have been guilty of vain repeti-
tion. Of going through the motions without the reality. We sit in Thy
presence in this hour praying genuinely, though it's been our prayer
- 2 -
many, many times; but, Lord we ask once again that You will speak and
lp-t me- get out of the way so that Thy word and Thy holy and divine
message might not only be heard, may it be received and understood and
incorporated into our living for we make this prayer in the beautiful
name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
