LOST ... THE DEVASTATING WORD!

Luke 15

I hope you have your Bibles open tonight to Luke, Chapter 15. You can
put your marki there if you have one, because we're going to be in
Luke 15 for awhile. I will preach, God willing, a minimum of six mes-
sages on the prodigal and on this chapter and possibly eight or ten messages,
I'm out there in the distant future now, working and looking at this tre-
mendous word from our Lord. As we begin tonight, let's think together
about selected verses from Luke 15, beginning with Verse 1:
"Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners
for to hear him. And the Pharisees and scribes murmurred
saying, 'This man receiveth sinners and eateth with them.'
And he, Jesus, spake this parable unto them saying, 'What
man of you having a hundred sheep if he lose one of them
does not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness and
go after that which is lost until he find it?"'
And then look at Verse 8:
"Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she
lose one piece does not light a candle and sweep the
house and seek diligently til she find it?"
Verse 12:
"And the younger of them said to his father, 'Father,
give me the portion of goods that falleth to me." And
he divided unto them his living. And not many days

after, the younger son gathered altogether and took his

journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance

with riotous living."

Let's pray together. "Father, guide us as we open Thy Book and seek a
fresh word ...
