This week I noticed something that made me stop and think as Hurricane Michael was working its way towards the area of Tampa Florida. The national weather channel was being viewed by people all over the southern coasts of Florida, Georgia, Alabama, New Orleans, North Carolina and South Carolina.

The Local News Agencies had people tuning in so that they could find out just when and where the Hurricane might be hitting. People were being warned to evacuate and that if they stayed past a certain timeframe, they would be on their own, with no hope of being helped throughout the night.

The interstates and highways were lined up with massive crowds of people heading north so that they could be safe and secure from the massive winds and rains that were predicted to hit. The thing that stunned me was this; people are more prone to trust in the fore cast of the weather person than they are in trusting in the man of God, the word of God, and in the signs of the time.

How Reliable Are Weather Forecasts?

A seven-day forecast can accurately predict the weather about 80 percent of the time and a five-day forecast can accurately predict the weather approximately 90 percent of the time. However, a 10-day or longer forecast is only right about half the time.
