STOOPING TO CONQUER

John 13:1-16


If you'll open your Bibles, please, to John the 13th Chapter. John 13. I'll

begin with Verse 1. John 13:1 following:

Now before the Feast of the Passover, Jesus knowing that Hts
hour had come that He should depart out of this worzd to the
Father_, having Zoved His own who were in the worzd, He Zoved
them to the end. 2And during supper, the deviz having azready
put into the heart of Tudas Iscariot, the son of Simon, to
betray Him, 3jesus, knowing that the Father had given aZZ
things into His hands, and that He had come forth from God and
was going back to God, 4rose from supper...
In the same chapter now if you'll just turn over and look at Verse 34. Jesus is
speaking and He says:
34 A new comandment I give to you, that you Love one another,
even as I have Zoved you, that you also Zove one another. (NAS)

Let's pray together. "Dear Father, we're grateful to Thee for the privilege of

worship ... the intimacy of fellowship ... and the joy that we have as part of this

family to be a part of this memorial time of remembrance. Lord, I pray that You

will speak and let me get out of the way so that Thy word and Thy holy and divine

message might not only be heard, but may it be received and understood and in-

corporated into our lifestyles. Father, may we never be the same because Thou

has tabernacled among us in this place at this time. We pray in Jesus'name. Amen."
