Today, we’re continuing in the series of messages that we’re calling... ‘‘Who Am I?’’ ...Discovering our True Identity. If you’re just now joining us, we are currently walking through the book of Ephesians, which addressed this question head-on... and my hope is... by the end of this series, each of us will have a better understanding of who we are... and who God designed us to be.

If you have your Bible today, I’d like to invite you to join me in Ephesians chapter 1.

When you begin reading this chapter... (and really... this book) ...if you’re a follower of Jesus that’s asking the question, ‘‘Who am I?’’ ...it very quickly answers that question with one few words...

Paul tells us... if you have been saved, your identity has been changed, and you are now IN CHRIST. He also tells those of us who’ve been changed by Jesus... we are considered SAINTS in Him. We talked about that last week. But today, we’re going to see Paul continue defining our identity as children of God, and He’s going to tell us... if you know Jesus... and love Jesus... and have been forgiven and saved by Jesus... you my friend, are.... BLESSED.

[Eph. 1:3] says, ‘‘Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavens in Christ.’’

The Bible says, if I’m a Christian, then I AM BLESSED.

Modern-day Christianity... loves the word... blessed. We LOVE to talk, and text, and tweet about our blessings... If you don’t believe me, just take a peek at social media later today. One of the most popular hashtags on the internet each and every year... is HASHTAG BLESSED.

And many times, we talk about being blessed... or we use that hashtag... to boast about the things we have... the things we’ve accomplished... the things we’ve done... all while still appearing to be humble, of course. ‘‘I got a college scholarsh ...
