Advent - the Arrival of the King.

There is an anticipation, a wonder, an awe, a hope. There is preparation and decoration and adoration of the One we will celebrate - our King Jesus, our Messiah. The One we have waited for all these years.

It was true for me and it is true for everyone in this world: there is a longing, a yearning for something more meaningful than the status quo. It is like you’re waiting for something, but you don’t know what you’re waiting for.

The woman at the well said it this way:
John 4:25 (NLT) The woman said, ‘‘I know the Messiah is coming-the one who is called Christ. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.’’

It was like she was saying, ‘‘when the Messiah comes, all the pieces are going to come together. Everything will finally make sense.’’ Even though the plan was not yet known, there was a hope and an anticipation that would be fulfilled in Christ. He would bring true meaning to life.

That is what happened in my life. I remember calling up my girlfriend Gerri at college and saying to her, ‘‘there’s got to be more to life than just living for the weekends, partying, and getting drunk.’’ I knew there was a missing link to my story. And God heard our conversation....

Now that Jesus has come,
Hope is here
Peace is here
Joy is here
Love is here
