Revelation 1:17-18
When John the beloved apostle wrote the book of Revelation, he saw Jesus and this is what he said:
Revelation 1:17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: 18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for
evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. (KJV)
The One who died and rose again is ALIVE FOREVERMORE. He is:
• The First and the Last
• The Alpha and the Omega
• The Beginning and the End
• The One who was, Who is and who is to come
• The King of Kings
• The Lord of Lords
• The Lamb of God
• The Lion of the Tribe of Judah
• THE ONE WHO DIED AND ROSE AGAIN ASCENDED TO THE RIGHT HAND OF THE FATHER. HIS NAME IS JESUS AND HE IS WORTHY TO BE PRAISED!
Death could not hold Him. He has broken the power of death over our lives. We will live forever because He lives forevermore. We need not fear hell, death, sickness, adversity, nor any other foe. Jesus is Risen and because of what HE has done for us, we shall OVERCOME in every facet of life!
Philippians 2:9 Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (ESV)
There is so much more to the resurrection than just the historical fact that it happened. The disciples witnessed it, then they preached it and the church has been growing for 2000 years because we serve a living Savior and the power of His Spirit is changing lives every day!
