A Story of Salvation (2 of 5)
Series: The Story I’ll Tell
Jordan Easley
Matthew 13:24-30
Let me ask you a question today: Has Jesus genuinely SAVED you?
If so, God has given you that story... to tell. Maybe you’re here today and you say, ‘‘I don’t know how to tell my story.’’ Perhaps you’re wondering where to begin. Well, let me put it this way. If you’ve truly been saved by God... your story will go something like this:
1. I was a sinner-separated from God
2. I was saved-through the Son of God
3. I was changed-by the word of God
4. I was made new-by the Spirit of God
I want to encourage you to remember this outline and use it to walk through the details of your story so you can explain the difference Jesus has made in your life!

[Psalm 51:5] says, ‘‘Indeed, I was guilty when I was born; I was sinful when my mother conceived me.’’ Don’t think for a second that you entered this world perfect. You didn’t... (ask you parents if you don’t believe me).
The Bible says when you were conceived, you were created with a sinful nature. (You can thank Uncle Adam and Auntie Eve for that one).
But seriously... the sin problem in the garden... resulted in the sin problem each of us were born into. [Romans 3:23] says, ‘‘For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.’’ That’s all of us here today.
Make no mistake about it: We were all born sinners. There’s no doubt about it. We were! Don’t look so spiritual at me today!!! You’re a sinner and you know it!
But all jokes aside-it’s a big deal that you realize the severity of your sin, because the Bible shows us that our sin is what separates us from God! [Isaiah 59:2] says, ‘‘But your iniquities are separating you from your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not listen.’’
Our sin separates us from God. [Romans 6:23] goes ...
