1. On our calendars there is what we sometimes call
red-letter days. These red-letter days mark certain
holidays, special days and events. On each of our
life's calendars there are red-letter days. April 2,
1972 is a red-letter day for me for it was that day I
was saved. Another red-letter day is a Sunday shortly
after I was saved. There was a Sunday night when I
knelt just a few feet from the place I was saved and
told God I wanted to give my life to Him. On that red-
letter day in my life I told God I would serve Him and
do whatever He wanted me to do. To that point, I had
never thought about being a preacher. It was not
something that I had entertained in my mind or given
any consideration to. Yet, when I returned to my seat,
I knew that God wanted me to be a preacher and preach
His word.
2. That was thirty years ago this past July. If I
could back to that Sunday night, knowing what I know
now, and with the knowledge of what those thirty years
have held, I would once again, without a moment's
hesitation or reservation, fall on my knees and tell
God that I would to do whatever He wanted, be whatever
He wanted, and go wherever He wanted me to be. I would
once again yield my life to God and seek to know and
do His will. I can assure you that I have never
regretted doing God's will. I have met those who
regretted they did not do God's will, but I have yet
to meet someone who regretted doing the will of God
for ...
