Ephesians 2:8-10


CIT - Paul teaches the Ephesian believers that they are saved by grace, through faith, and for good works.

INTRODUCTION:

I remember a revival meeting where the preacher decided that he would get the crowd involved in the service early on. During one of the songs he asked people to stand up who were saved in the month of January, then Feb, then March and so. He kept at it until the great majority of the place was standing.

I thought that was great, I still do. But if you ask most church members to describe their salvation, they will speak of a day, a moment in the past, when they received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. For many people their salvation is something stuck in their past, a great memory, a life changing, but still a memory.

The Biblical view of Salvation is something quite different. Salvation is in the present tense, as well as the past. Being saved impacts should impact every day and every moment of our lives.

As Paul wraps up these ten verses, some of the greatest ever penned, He speaks of a salvation that covers three tenses. The past - I have been saved, The present- I am being saved, and the future- I will be saved. This morning we are going to look closely at how we were saved and what a difference that should make in our lives today.

I) WE ARE SAVED BY GRACE - VS. 8

Grace is the basis of our salvation, it is the divine source.
