Can you if imagine the President of the United States came to speak at your local high school auditorium and the band strikes
up the song ‘‘Hail to the Chief’’ as the President strides up to the microphone. The spotlight follows his every step because the people what to see him.
Suddenly the crowd, as one, rises and - what is this? They turn their backs to the stage and pointing to the balcony, erupt in
applause for the fine performance of the spotlight operator!
Absurd? Of course, but it illustrates a truth about the Spirit.
The Spirit glorifies - shines the spotlight on - the Son.
Believers must not have their focus so completely on the person and work of the Holy Spirit that we lose sight of the central figure
of time and eternity, the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior.

Helper (KJB comforter, NIV counselor) - Gk. called to one’s aid or alongside to help (:26, 15:26, 16:7). It was someone who is called in to help such as: a witness in court, an advocate to please
a cause or an expert to give advice. It was someone who was called in to help in time of need or trouble.
I will send - Jesus would send him to dwell in those who believed in him as their Savior because he was part of the plan of salvation.
The Holy Spirit came upon the 120 believers on the day of Pentecost 10 days after Jesus ascended into heaven (Acts 2:1-4).
The Holy Spirit is to us what Christ was to his disciples.
He is with us to encourage and comfort us in our daily lives.
Spirit of truth - in contrast with a spirit of error (14:17).
He always confirms what is true and opposes what is false.
The expression was currently used by the Jews who believed there were two spirits in the world - the spirit of truth and the spirit of error - an individuals had to decide which one they would believe.
