1. I cannot count the number of times in recent days
that someone has asked me,
"Have you read the prayer of Jabez?" What they were
referring to is a little book by Bruce Wilkinson
simply entitled "The Prayer of Jabez." I know of no
book that has come along in a long time that has and
is touching more lives than Wilkinson's "The Prayer of
Jabez." I am constantly hearing reports about how it
has changed people, preachers and even churches. I
have read the book and it is excellent and I would
encourage all of you to read it.

2. Several of you have told me how the book has
stirred your heart. Because of how it has touched and
stirred your heart I want us as a whole to spend a few
weeks looking at the prayer of Jabez. In light of all
that God is doing here and the place we have been
brought to as a Church, it is the kind of prayer that
we need to look at and learn to pray.

3. These are exciting days at Temple Baptist Church.
God has brought us to an exciting stage as a Church.
People are being saved almost every week as our FAITH
teams go out visiting. People are being added to the
Church. We are out of space in all our educational
facilities and our auditorium on an average Sunday is
90 per cent full. Our parking lots are full. In just
about everything we have we are pushing the limits.

4. Construction and remodeling on one of our buildings
will begin in about three weeks which will give us
new, larger and first class facilities for child care.
New entranceways into the auditorium will be added to
better move people through our buildings. We are in
the process of trying to obtain more land to provide
more parking. We are in the preliminary stages of
planning and preparing to build a new Worship Center.
These are exciting days around here!
