Series: Jesus

John 19-20

Now would you please take your copy of the word of God and join me in the gospel of John chapter 19. Over the last several weeks, we’ve been following the footsteps of Jesus, looking at a few snapshots of his life and what they mean for us today.

We began at the shepherd’s fields outside of Bethlehem where we saw JESUS: What a Shepherd! Then we headed North to the Sea of Galilee where Jesus called his first disciples and saw JESUS: What a Life-Changer!

Then we took a field trip up to Caesarea Philippi where we saw JESUS: What a Teacher! Then traveling south we arrived in Jerusalem to the Garden of Gethsemane where we saw JESUS: What A Savior! Then it was off to the house of Caiaphas where we saw JESUS: What a Suffering Savior! Then from the house of Caiaphas, we went to Golgotha, Calvary, the Place of the Skull where we saw more of JESUS: What a Suffering Savior, as he died for the sins of the world. And now today we travel a short distance from Golgotha to a Grave as we see:

A new tomb was in the garden; no one had yet been placed in it. 42 They placed Jesus there because of the Jewish day of preparation and since the tomb was nearby.’’
