How to Be an Effective Laborer for Christ!

1 Corinthians 3:10-22
Two fellers were in desperate need of cash, but admittedly were a bit cowardly. So the one suggested they break into the Amish market. The logic being that since the Amish were non-resistant, even if they were caught, no harm could befall them. Thus they carried out their plot. However, just as they were breaking into the cash register, the owner turned on the lights and confronted them, a shotgun pointed directly at them. Calmly, the Amishman said, Boys, I would never do thee any harm yet you are standing where I am about to shoot.
Introduction:
We are going through the Book of 1 Corinthians and we have come to a section which introduces us to the Judgment Seat of Christ. We will all be judged one day, but our works will be judged, and not our sins. Jesus paid it all, and all to Him I owe! With this thought in mind, how can we get the good rewards, instead of having our works burned up in fire? We will look at five challenges that will help us to be more effective laborers for Christ!

1-Build on the proper foundation
10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise master builder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
Paul has just given the metaphor for being a wise builder, and now he gives his qualifications. He has been a master builder preaching the Gospel to many who had never heard it! Paul wanted to take the gospel to the hard ground, and sow the seed to those who were ignorant of the plan of salvation. Sometimes Paul would be able to win that person to Christ who had never heard the good news of the Gospel, but at other times, another person may come along and have the privilege of winning that person to Christ!
