[Sea of Galilee VIDEO-5:32]

I’ve met a lot of people in my life that claim to be a ‘disciple’ of Jesus Christ. People from all walks of life say... ‘‘I’m a disciple of Jesus’’ ...people with all kinds of beliefs about God say... ‘‘I’m a disciple.’’

That word ‘disciple’ is common language in our culture and especially within the church... But the truth is: many people are claiming that title in their life today... and yet, many have no idea what it really means... or understand what’s really required to be a true disciple of Jesus.

Today as we open God’s word to [Matthew chapter 4], we are going to see Jesus, walking along the shores of the Sea of Galilee, doing what He does best... and that is... making disciples.

[Matthew 4.18-22] 18 As he was walking along the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon (who is called Peter), and his brother Andrew. They were in a boat with Zebedee their father, preparing their nets, and he called them. 22 Immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.’’

In fact, we read in [John 1] the account of John the Baptist seeing Jesus coming toward him... and in [v. 29-30] he said, ‘‘‘‘Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!30 This is the one I meant when I said, ‘A man who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’

Right here, John the Bapt ...
