Intro/Attention
Last week we began a sermon series called, Love Where You Live. We’re talking about what it means to love our neighbors and the nations with the gospel of Jesus Christ in simple, practical, and compelling ways.
*Before we move on, I just want to say that last Sunday was one of those Sundays that I will remember for the rest of my life. For our church to bless a young couple seeking to adopt in such a generous way was overwhelming. I know that Mason and Ashlyn are still in shock. They needed about $15,000 dollars to get across the finish line for adoption expenses. I was hoping and praying that we would hit that goal but I didn’t know. Especially since I didn’t announce we were taking an offering. As of this morning, we blessed this couple with over $23,000! Thank you so much for your generosity!*
This morning, we come to Colossians 3:23-24 and I’m preaching on this subject, Love Where You Work. Here’s the main idea today: everything we do and everywhere we go provide opportunities to share the love of God with others. And yes, that includes where you work. I want you to take the gospel with you everywhere you go...even where you work! Your work can be worship! How can you use your job to lead people to Jesus? *No matter what your job is or how many times you change, if you work full time over the course of 50 or 60 years, the biggest single block of your life is going to be spent in the workplace.
