Hebrews 12:1-2
50 years! What a milestone! Let’s take a minute to remember those who have come and gone. We have only been gone for 6 years, and in this time, many good people have left this world for their eternal abode. This evokes a sadness and gladness simultaneously as we think back over the years, the relationships, the times spent together, sacrifices made, and the victories won. Standing together on this day, on this occasion, reminds us of Psalm 24 and 1 Cor 10 which says, ‘‘the earth is the Lord’s and all that is in it.’’ We are His people, the sheep of His pasture, and we make up His family, His building, His body, His bride, and His church.’’

The world seems to be falling apart before our very eyes, prophecies are being fulfilled, the signs are pointing toward a soon return of our Lord, and this land, which has been considered ‘‘CHRISTIAN’’ is now divesting itself of every hint of Christianity, so what is the church of the Lord Jesus Christ to do? Taking his thought from the letter to Philippi, Dan Burgess penned these words, ‘‘When the valley is deep - When the mountain is steep - When the body is weary - When we stumble and fall, When the choices are hard - When we’re battered and scarred -When we’ve spent our resources -When we’ve given our all. In Jesus’ name, we press on - In Jesus’ name, we press on - Dear Lord, with the prize - Clear before our eyes. We find the strength to press on
