This Is Your Sign (3 of 8)
Series: Unleashed
Craig Smith
Acts 8:1-25
Introduction This is week number three of our Unleashed series where we’re talking about how to get off of the short leashes we sometimes put ourselves on as followers of Jesus, the leashes that can keep us from living on mission with Jesus and living the lives Jesus created and redeemed us for. And today I want to talk to you about signs. Not road-signs...not like stop or yield or stuff like that...I’m talking about spiritual signs. Miraculous signs, signs from God. I’m not saying God never gives us signs...He does. But, I tend to think most of the things God wants us to do, we know to do without needing a sign. Not everyone thinks that way about signs. A couple of years ago we had a family live with us for a while that definitely thought differently about signs. They believed that God was always giving us signs, and actually, they believed that we shouldn’t do anything until God gives us a sign. So every morning they would get together as a family and pray about what God wanted them to do that day and they wouldn’t do anything until one of them felt like God gave them a sign about what they were supposed to do. Which sounds super-spiritual, doesn’t it? But is that what following Jesus is supposed to look like? Do we ...
