Intro:
We continue our series in Acts in which we are talking about how we have been SENT into our own culture to spread the gospel and advance the church of Christ. In order to do this, we first, look at what is actually happening in the historical events of the book of Acts, we examine not only the history but the methodology and motivations of the apostles and disciples and then we see how this applies to our current cultural situation so we can participate in what God is doing now on the timeline of salvation history.

I will say that as difficult as our current situation is, it is also a very exciting time to be a part of what God is doing in the lives of people in our community and around the world.

Last week Andrew carefully and skillfully helped us understand how we are sent into a culture of idolatry and exposed the gods of sexual immorality. It's worth listening to if you missed it. This morning we are going to look at how we are sent into a culture of idolatry and how spiritual forces play into this cosmic battle of good and evil.

I have to warn you that the story we are going to read is a bit brutal, but it displays the truth that the spiritual realm does in fact enter into the physical realm and can cause harm. But the passage also reveals the power of God over all spiritual forces which should be of great encouragement to us all.

Fight in the spiritual battle
Share the gospel with everyone
Dream big for our friends

We must fight in this Spiritual Battle.
