Jack’s grandfather left him ten million dollars, and the next week Diane agreed to marry him. After three months of married life, Jack noticed that his beautiful new wife was ignoring him more and more. Whenever they went out in public, she ignored him and flirted with other men. Finally, he decided to confront her. “Diane,’’ he said, ‘‘was the only reason you married me was because my grandfather left me ten million dollars when he died?’’ “Don’t be ridiculous,’’ she replied, ‘‘I don’t care who gave you the money!’’

Introduction: We are studying through the little Epistle that Paul wrote to the believers of Phillipi. He had been beaten and imprisoned in this city about 10 years prior to this, and now he is imprisoned again in Rome, but is writing to the Philippians. He is telling them to hold your head up high, and realize that you are a child of the King! If Paul can keep his sanity, and joy about him in prison, chained to two guards, then surely the believers who were waking in the sunlight of freedom ought to be able to do the same! Amen! We need to let the world know that we are redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, and we are joyful about it! How Can We Have the Joy of the Lord? Body: 1- Stay Busy for God Paul was being threatened and yet he said he was going to stay busy for God as long as God would allow him to, and then he would be far better off to go to heaven for all eternity! 25 And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith; Paul had the assurance that God was going to let him continue to minister with the Philippian believers.
