After the revival had concluded, the three pastors were discussing the results with one another. The Methodist minister said, ‘‘The revival worked out great for us! We gained four new families.’’ The Baptist preacher said, ‘‘We did better than that! We gained six new families.’’ The Presbyterian pastor said, ‘‘Well, we did even better than that! We got rid of our 10 biggest trouble makers!’’

An elderly woman walked into the local country church. The friendly usher greeted her at the door and helped her up the flight of steps. ‘‘Where would you like to sit?’’ he asked politely. “The front row please.’’ she answered. “You really don’t want to do that’’, the usher said. ‘‘The pastor is really boring.’’ “Do you happen to know who I am?’’ the woman inquired. “No.’’ he said. “I’m the pastor’s mother,’’ she replied indignantly. “Do you know who I am?’’ he asked. “No.’’ she said. “Good’’, he answered.

Introduction: There are many styles of Gospel preaching. Some preach softly, others loudly. Some jump and run. Others sit while they preach. The delivery is important, but not near as important of the message of the preaching! If the preacher is preaching some man made philosophy, then there is no power there! But if a preacher is preaching the Word of God, then that is his authority. He does not have to fear what man says or does, as long as he is preaching the Word of God! Sometimes people will resist it, because it is shaper than a two edged sword, but there will be others who receive the Word gladly, and are saved or matured in the faith. If they complain that they are not being fed, it is not the fault of the preacher if he is preaching God’s Holy Word. We can all learn more of the Word of God because it is like a treasure chest, and there are many undiscovered gems and treasures there that we can learn about if we come to the table ready to eat!
