I Kings 17
Today, we will jump back into our series ''Lessons in the Drought.''
I want to jump right into the Scripture today, so turn your in your bibles to I Kings 17 and let's read it and work through it.
1 King 17 Now Elijah the Tishbite, from Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab, (Ahab the King) ''As the Lord, the God of Israel, lives, whom I serve, there will be neither dew nor rain in the next few years except at my word.'' which was a capital crime, an act of rebellion against the king
Elijah had challenged him with the existence of God at a time when Jezebel, the wife of the king, was sending out all of her prophets and priests of Baal, and they were killing believers.
2 Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah: 3 ''Leave here, turn eastward and hide (A question we might ask is, could God not save him? Why Hide?
Go hide
Go do nothing
Go be by yourself
Go and not be seen or known
Go and speak to no one
Go hide
Honestly, it is hard to understand these moments.
Have you ever been in this type of season in your life? A Season where you feel like you have been hidden?
I remember journaling in a hiding moment. Lord, a question mark defines my life right now. Lord, why have you led me to the world of nothing.
Then I was reminded of Job 23:10
''When [God] has tested me, I shall come forth as gold'' (Job 23: 10).
Job did not consider losing his family, his wealth, and his health a joy, but he did look forward to the joy he knew would follow his trial.
James 1:2 2 When troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.
Stand on the truth today in whatever drought you are walking through that God might hide you today to use you tomorrow.
It is hard to see - but Faith must lead!!! - (When it is hard to See - Faith must lead)
Maybe your hiding moment is your preparation moment to be used tomorro ...
