You ever wonder what is being written between the OT and the NT? What is being said?
What is God saying when nothing is being said at all?
Like when your spouse is steering out the window and you wondering what is she thinking?
The Blank page is defined in different ways.
Some call it the 400 years of Silence
Some call it the Intertestamental period
400 years no prophets
400 years they just are living but aren’t experiencing God in big ways.
400 years of going through the routine
400 years of just doing what the law says
400 years of building a routine
Could you imagine how Board they got with God?
They were in a Spiritual Drought
Just following the Law and doing their best.
During this time, you would find religious leaders bullying everyone.
Everyone was going to the temple as an act of duty, not an act of love.
Just routine for 400 years. Can I just give you this about getting stuck in a routine.
Routine leads to boredom
Routine leads to frustration
Routine leads to apathy
Routine leads to contentment
Routine leads to depression
That is why you have to change it up some
In your marriage, get out of your routine. – change it up
Church, we will change it up – get out of the routine
(We are more afraid of miss opportunity than of change)
Vacations – change them up
Chang the playbook every now and then.
Be careful through this season of Covid-19 not to get in a spiritually dry season by building a routine of not being a part of Church.
