Intro: Someone said regarding prayer that, ''No one has ever prayed until he or she has prayed for another.''

When Jesus talked to us about prayer, he charged us by saying, ''When ye pray say 'Our' Father.'' Not simply mine or my, but ''our'' Father. There is no gospel unless you include the word ''others.''

Let me make some statements about prayer this morning, before we talk about how to touch somebody's life by prayer.

PRAYER IS GOD'S GIFT AND TRUST TO US

It is His way (gift) for us to help others. But it is more than a gift, it is a sacred trust and opportunity. It is one of the most important things ever committed by God to us as the sons of men.

ILL. In our criminal jurisprudence, one of the blackest crimes held most accountable is the betrayal of the trust we hold for another. Our failure to use this divine gift is so priceless, so rare for helping others is a betrayal of our greatest and noblest trust.

You and I have no right or liberty to use selfishly any gift of God, especially the gift of intercessory prayer. For if we do not use it we might lose it like the man who buried his talent and lost that talent, but at the same time lost usefulness for himself.

ILL. God's command is pray for one another. In Matt. 25, God's word describes the scene of the Great White Throne Judgement. Those on the left of the judge are accused of crimes of neglect and negligence towards their brother. The sin they stand eternally condemned for is a lack o compassion and brotherliness.

We have an awesome responsibility to others. Who can complain about.. life being little, mean, narrow, monotonous when you could be linked with such a tremendous task and destiny as helping a person know Jesus as Savior.

PRAYER DEMANDS ACTION FROM US
