Touching A World For Christ Or The Five Finger Spiritual Hand
Acts 4:23-31
Intro: S. D. Gordon, that marvelous preacher of a generation ago used to speak about, the believer's spiritual hand and by the spirit hand he meant the helping hand that we give to a lost and dying world.
Dr. Gordon described how any believer can touch his w by getting; a firm grip on the events through the five fingers that touch and change things for good.
I wonder if you have ever really been aware of how many times the Bible says Jesus or his disciples reached out and took by the hand an individual.
Mt. 8:3: Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. I am willing, he said. Be clean. Immediately he was cured of his leprosy.''
Mt. 9:18: While he was saying this, a ruler came and knelt before him and said, My daughter has just died. But come and put your hand on her, and she will live.
Matt. 14:31: He told them another parable: The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field.
Mark 1:31: So he went to her, took her hand and helped her up.- The fever left her and she begarn to wait on them.
Mark 5:41: He took her by the hand and said to her, Talitha koum! (which means, Little girl, I say to you, get up:)
Mark 8:23: He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. When he had spit on the man's eyes and put his hand on him, Jesus asked, Do you see anything?
Mark 9:27: But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him to his feet, and he stood up.
I. FIRST, THERE IS THE TOUCH OF YOUR LIFE
Others come in contact with our lives every day, so my life is my sermon. I am my neighbor's Bible. He reads me when we meet. Today he reads me in my home, tomorrow in the street.
