Definition of Fidelity -
What we need today, this morning, is a dose of the real thing. The way God intended for it to be. We must recapture the beauty of perfect plan in marriage.
You who have experienced divorce must say with the word - ''Regardless of my failures, God has a standard and I must encourage the banner to be lifted high.'' I can't live in the pessimism of the past; I must live from this day forward for myself, for my children, and family, for my brothers and sisters in Christ. God has a message of the pattern of fidelity in marriage - the fidelity factor.
I. FOR MEN, THE MESSAGE OF HOSEA
The most pointed illustration of faithfulness and fidelity is found in the story of Hosea/Gomer.
God's Visual Aids Story. Verse 2-3.
ILL. God says I'm going to demonstrate my undying, unquenchable love through the experiences of a faithful husband (Hosea), and an adulterous and unfaithful wife (Gomer). You will act out a drama. Hosea, you will play the part of God, and Gomer will act out the part of the nation Israel, my people. She will be unfaithful to you, but you must love her and be faithful to her because that is how I respond to my people, Israel.
