Cleansing Our Home For Christ

Introduction: Our need tonight is for homes that honor Christ and exalt Him. There are so many evil pressures and influences that have and want to infiltrate our homes. Husbands and fathers must take the leadership that involves some definite commitments and positive steps of action to cleanse that home, to preserve it and to protect it.
*Though you are Christian, Are there carnal things in your home? (Remember, the carnal mind is not subject to God's law.) Romans 8:5-7:
''Those who live according to their carnal (sinful) nature, have their minds set on what that nature desires. But those who live in accordance to the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind of a sinful man, carnal man, is dead. But the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace; the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so. Those controlled the sinful nature cannot please God.''
ILL. The word ''carnal'' is sarkikos, pertaining to the flesh, that which is temporal. Passions. Corinthian Christians were carnal Christians. 1 Cor. 3: 1, 4, ''They walk as men, for the carnal mind is m opposition to God, enmity against God.''
God's leader husband and father, or a mother who is single and the head of her home must see these ten ''I wills'' - I will sing, I will walk in my house, I will set no vile thing before my eyes, I will have nothing to do with evil.
It is a plan of action. It is first a decision of the will that springs from the spirit. The thrust of Christianity resides in the will!
1. I will live a life of praise. (v. 1)
In order to cleanse our home a basic commitment to love and worship God continually in my heart and life and at home must happen. I will let nothing hinder or detract me and my family from being able to praise Him and from enjoying fellowship with Him. Nothing must hinder that.
