Live Passionately

Psalms 31:14, John 10:10
Last Sunday we started a new series to begin 2022 called, ‘‘Borrowed Time.’’ It’s based on Psalms 31:14, ‘‘I trust in you, O Lord; I say, ‘You are my God,’ and my time is in your hands.’’
Most of us will never hear a Doctor say, ‘‘You are terminal.’’ Instead, we’ll just suffocate under a mountain of insignificant tasks on our to-do-list. That’s why we need to live like we’re dying!
If you sense the sand in your hourglass slipping away, learn to live passionately. Albert Einstein once said, ‘‘What is sad is when something dies inside of a man while he’s still living. Psalms 90:12, ‘‘Teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom.’’
Our most valuable commodity isn’t money, but time. Our days are numbered and there isn’t an endless supply. In order for us to get the most out of a rapidly depleting resource, God wants us to gain a heart of wisdom.
One way to exercise a heart of wisdom is to live your life on purpose, realizing that we’re living on ‘‘Borrowed Time.’’ So, we’re twenty-two years into the twenty-first century, the kids are all back in school, and January affords us a perfect opportunity to evaluate our lives.
Jesus said (John 10:10), ‘‘I came so you can have real and eternal life, more and better life than you ever dreamed of.’’ Let’s begin by examining our passions. Three steps will help you live with a deep level of passion.
First, Choose a passion that will last into eternity. Passion is what makes your heart beat faster. Passion is what gets you out of bed in the morning. Passion is what propels you forward!
Another word for passion is ‘‘enthusiasm.’’ Enthusiasm comes from two Greek words: en Theos, which means, ‘‘God within.’’
We discover the passion of Jesus after the Passover. When Mary and Joseph returned to Nazareth they discovered that Jesus was missing, and he’d been missing for three day. They returned to Jerusale ...
