In four weeks, we begin our meetings focused on having REVIVAL. We will all agree that our nation needs a move of God. If our nation needs it, state, county, and our church needs it. The road to revival is repentance. Spiritual-Biblical revival is more than just a few days of meetings. ''It is a divine movement of God that awakens the cold heart, revives the dead heart and places the Kingdom's agenda front and center.'' That is my prayer.
In August of last year, as I began a series of message about being 'authentic', from my friend, Dr. Kevin Hamm, I shared with you a list of the 9 sins of the local church. (SHOW LIST OF NINE SINS) 2 things: First, I added #10. The second thing I offered was this; after the first of the year, we might revisit these. In preparation for our meeting, it is time.
Question: Are we ready for God to do something in our lives, something like He's never done before, something above and beyond all that we think or ask, something beyond our imagination? Are we, you, or I ready?
I ask because, if we don't' want it, likely He won't send it. In my heart of hearts, I'm afraid are not ready, not particularly willing, and not wanting because 'we think we are fine.' I get it. But what if God supernaturally took me from the pulpit to pew like Ezekiel did in Eze 37. Then Jesus appeared and looked into us with His Xray eyes of fire that sees our hearts.
(The churches of Revelation) Walking the 'Repentance Road to Revival' may cause us to step in places that may not fit us - it may not be a sin that we need to deal with at this time, but along this road, we may well discover some things or THE THING that keeps God from doing in us, all that He wants to do.
