The Repentance Road to Revival (4 of 4)

Exodus 20, Ezra 3
A Powerful, Personal word: If there ever were a time that you were closer to the Lord than you are right now, then this message is for you. Standing here weekly, it's easily observable to see the people who are engaged in this journey toward a true spiritual revival and awakening and those who either are undecided or sadly, are not interested. This road is not an easy road, but it is a needed journey and the rewards of completing the journey, makes the entire trip worthwhile.
In the early 1900s, before electricity was so readily available, after sunset streets were often lit by 'gas-lights'. Sometime around dark, people (often children) would come down the streets (bicycle) with a ladder or a long lighter and light the lamp so people could see the roadway. These were called lamplighters. My goal as well as my prayer is that this past month, I have been a 'spiritual lamplighter', lighting this ''Repentance Road'' which leads to ''REVIVAL''.
Repentance Road to REVIVAL - each word of that name is important. You see, being a child of God is much more than simply attending worship once or so each week. It speaks of us placing our faith in Jesus Christ for the salvation of our soul, about being filled with His Spirit and walking in that Spirit daily. It is about being changed from the inside out so much so that people know we are filled with Him because we are filled with joy. It is about being ready to speak to someone about Jesus.
Revival is needed when church has grown cold to these things. Just like the church at Ephesus in Revelation 2. They had done so many good things, but they needed revival, for they had left, lost, or abandoned the love that they had at first. Why? Sin had replaced their Spiritual walk.
We have addressed 8 of the 10 Deadly Sins of the Church. Let's count them down; Weak Pulpit, Tiny Faith, Timid Prayers, Small Commitment, Silent Witn ...
