I Peter 2:22-25
We continue a study in the book of I Peter. It is a book written by the Holy Spirit through Peter the Apostle. It was written towards the end of his life around the year AD 63. He is writing to persecuted believers encouraging them to keep their Hope In Jesus.
Text: I Peter 2:22-25
Jesus Sinless v. 22
Jesus Never Sinned
Everyone has sinned but Jesus never did.
He was tempted in all ways like us but He never sinned. Hebrews 4:15.
God's Standard is Perfection
Jesus was God's Son who came to live and fulfill God's Requirements.
Jesus was our perfect lamb or sacrifice.
Under The Old Covenant
A spotless perfect lamb was brought to atone for your sins.
The High Priest would look at the lamb.
If the lamb was perfect and spotless you were accepted.
Key Pt: The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:21 ''For He made Him who knew no sin
To be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness God in
Him.''
Jesus Came To Take Away Our Sins. V. 24 and I John 3:5
Our sins were put on Jesus.
His Righteousness was put on us.
Jesus died as us so we can live as Him.
