Matthew 4:18-22
We are in a series I Was Made For This. We have been talking about the plans and purposes of God in our lives. That we were made for God, others and Community. That doing life is not ever meant to do it alone.
Our goal is to get you to be apart of something if you are not already involved. In fact I want you to actually make your group you already have into a place of sharing the Life of Jesus with others.
Text: Matthew 4:18-22
Jesus Was Walking By
He was by the Sea of Galilee
It is a major sea in Israel.
It is a place of commerce
It would be full of fisher men
Jesus was at this point walking alone.
He could have done life alone
He could have done ministry alone
But He chose to do something.
Key Pt: Jesus shows us that doing life is made of 2 aspects. Notice the progression. There is a progression in life. Life is always about steps, progression and Patterns.
You did not start off in High School. You started off in Pre School or Kindergarden.
Notice what Jesus says
Calling
Jesus finds some fisher men
He calls them to Himself.
He identifies those and then calls those to himself.
I sense a Divine Urgency
That Jesus is once again calling you and me.
He is calling those who have heard and those who have not heard.
It is the heart of God to call
Think about the calls of God in the Bible
Abraham was called out to another place * Noah was called to build an Ark * David was called to kill a Giant * Daniel was called to influence a nation * Esther was called to save her people * Jeremiah was called to speak to Israel * Moses was called to be a deliverer
Jesus is still calling today
There is a call by the Spirit to us.
There is a call by Jesus himself.
