Going Above and Beyond
Rex Yancy
Matthew 26:36-40

The Lord Jesus Christ had just initiated the Lord's Supper with his disciples. It was a fitting end to the Passover. Jesus may have celebrated 3 to 5 Passover's with them. The Passover commemorated the death angel passing over the Jews at the end of the plagues.

Jesus led his disciples to the Garden of Gethsemane. It was located across the Kidron Valley and facing the Eastern Gate. I am sure Jesus had met with his disciples there many times.

He took Peter, James, and John to a spot in the garden and told them to tarry there and to watch with him.

What about your will? What does God want to do in your life? What does God want to do with your marriage, work, church. Have you considered going above and beyond? Have you considered going a little farther?

Philippians 2:8 ''And being found in the fashion of a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cro ...
