Heart For The House is our new series that we are beginning. In this series we are going to be talking about this house: ChurchLV. We will be covering what we are about and the values associated with our mission.
My prayer is that we all develop a Heart For God's House and Particularly this House called ChurchLV.
Text: Acts 1:2-5, 8
Background: Jesus has now Resurrected and has been spending 40 days with the disciples. He is getting ready leave them but He now tells them what is coming. That He is going to build them a house in heaven while they help build His House here on earth. But He is going to give them everything they need. So Jesus gives them the following:
Jesus Promise v. 4
Jesus Reminds the promise from the Father
He told them the Father had promised the Precious Holy Spirit.
He told them the Father promised it.
Key Pt: A promise is only as good as the person who made it. In other words a
A promise in of itself is not enough. It is only good based on the character
Of the person who made the Promise.
When my dad promised something, you could take it to the bank.
We are going to Disneyland. I began to get ready on Monday for Disney
On Saturday.
Jesus promise is that the Father is going to send the Holy Spirit to His
Sons and Daughters John 15:26
. He is a Gift From The Father
A gift cannot be earned or deserved.
A gift is a gift because it is a gift.
Key Pt: The Kingdom of God operates by
Believing and receiving not earning and deserving!!
A gift is given on the merit of the one giving the gift not on the one
Receiving the gift. In other words it begins with and ends with God.
Key Pt: Romans 5:5 lets us know that the Holy Spirit fills our heart with love.
