Heart For The House is our new series that we are beginning. In this series we are going to be talking about this house: ChurchLV. We will be covering what we are about and the values associated with our mission.

My prayer is that we all develop a Heart For God's House and Particularly this House called ChurchLV.

Text: Acts 3:1-10

Peter and John Going To A Prayer Meeting

Peter and John were complete opposites

Peter was the one who denied Jesus.

John was the one at the cross with Jesus.

Key Pt: I believe that God is showing us that even though one failed and one
Seemingly did not, He can still use both.

Notice they are going together. You will not see people in the Word Doing
Life by themselves.

One of our values is Community. Doing life together, not alone!! Getting
In relationship with God and others.

Going to prayer in the temple

There were 2 times of sacrifices in the temple.

This was the second sacrifice done at 3 pm in the day. It was the hour of prayer.

Key Pt: The Crowds would be large and were part of the Jewish Traditions.
The Rabbis taught there were 3 pillars to the Jewish Faith: The Torah,
Worship and Giving. The giving would be towards the temple and to others
In need.




Met A Lame Man

He was lame since birth

This man had only known one way all of his life.

He had been born this way.

He was carried daily to the Beautiful Gate of the temple

There were 10 gates leading into the temple.

This is called the Beautiful Gate of the temple

Key Pt: Some scholars think this was the gate that was covered with Corinthian
Bronze. It was so massive that it would take 20 men to close the gate every
Night.

Just think this man was laid everyday by the gate leading into church but
Never taken into the church.
