God's Plan for Supporting His Work

INTRO. Most of what this world gets done is because
of someone's plan.

ILL. of father watching teenage son frantically
mowing lawn. Neighbor asked, "What happened?
You have been trying to get him to do that all
summer." Father replied "I told him I had lost
the car keys in the grass." You have to plan to
do most anything!

We often respond because someone tells us to respond!

ILL. of Gay Lynn is in the first grade. After
the first two weeks of school Jeanne asked her,
"Gay, did you make any A's today?" "No" "Why
not?" her mother asked. "Because the teacher
didn't tell me to make any A's," she said.

God directs this world with no less insight and
foresight. He leaves nothing to chance or
happenstance! Because we cannot understand it all
does not mean that we must disbelieve it all! Alfred
Lord Tenneyson said:

"Flower in the Crannied wall
I pluck you out of the crannies
I hold you here, root and all, in my hand little
flower -
But if I could understand what you are, root and
all and all in all,
I should know what God and man is."

There is so much we cannot understand, because God is
God and man is man! But God has pulled back the
curtain of infinity long enough for us to learn some
of the order of his creation.

I. GOD HAD A PLAN FOR THE CREATION OF THE WORLD!

1. Gen 1:3-5 The order of the universe - six
days of labor.

1) Laws - centrificial force -gravity

ILL. of fire - "take it off you fool,
it's hot!"

2) The handiwork of God. The tilt of the
earth on its axis - to give seasons,
balance the oceans of the world.

The location of the earth from the sun - a
few thousand miles closer we would be
burned to a crisp or farther we would
freeze.

The molecule - atoms - a miniature space
system - atoms - protons neutrons - and
bey ...
