This is the time of year many of us are making resolutions because we realize, something has to change. But while we want our circumstance or our situation to change, God has a different CHANGE in mind.

The work God wants to do is a lot deeper, a lot greater, a lot more eternal than losing 25 pounds, joining the gym, or finally learning how to set the clock on your microwave.

God wants to do a deep work on the inside of us.
I want THINGS to change. God wants ME to change.
I want an EXTERNAL change. God wants an INTERNAL change.

You see, most of us don't need a RE-SO-LUTION as much as we need a RE-VO-LUTION, a radically different way of living. And the Apostle Paul taught the Romans about this kind of radical spiritual revolution in the closing verses of Romans 13.

Someone has said, ''The problem with most New Year's resolutions is that they go in one year and out the other.'' Resolutions are like the kitchen trash and crying babies in church. They need to be carried out to do anybody any good.

This past week I came across a list someone made of resolutions you could actually keep.

1. Read fewer books
2. Gain 30 pounds
3. Eat out more and quit taking lunch to work
4. Spend more time on Facebook
5. Buy more junk on eBay and Amazon

Well, in Romans 13 we find three resolutions we need to keep if we are going to see a revolution in our life. And the good news is, these are 3 commitments you and I can keep. In fact, they are written under divine inspiration and compared to something that most of us already do every single day. We wake up, get a shower, and get dressed. Unless it's a rare ''pajama day,'' you already do this nearly every day.

It's hard to believe, but the spiritual revolution you and I need really is as simple as WAKE up, CLEAN up, and DRESS up.

1. First, you need to wake up (11)
