GOD'S PLACE FOR THE MAN IN THE FAMILY

INTRO. No figure so under attack as the America male!
From every side woman's lib movement - youth - wives -
we see him portrayed as a bumbling villain. William
Bendex "what a revolting development this is!" to
scatterbrain Dogwood Bumstead. We have (as we are
doing to so many of our ideals and institutions) pick
men to pieces so little is left but a male book who
brings home the paycheck to be spent by the waiting
family - while he sits like a moron in front of the TV
reading the sports page and swallows beer.

A little joke from a Baptist paper seems to say it
all-

A man said to his friend: "Who is the boss in your
house?" "Well," his friend said, "my wife assumes
command of the children, the servants, the dog and
parakeet. But I pretty much do what I please with the
goldfish."

The importance of a strong father figure in the
family!

honest father."

The father gives character to the children - from
mother response to life's daily situations is gained.
She shapes the personality, but the father shapes the
basic honesty and discipline of the family.

We start with men-husbands, fathers, because God did!
They are the key to a spiritual successful family.
(Oh to be spiritually successful because of a father
instead of inspite of him!)

I. GOD CREATED MAN TO BE A LEADER!
This basic idea is under fire - (Joke) When a man and
woman marry they become one. The trouble starts when
they try to decide which one.
