Introduction: What would be better than...having your
sins forgiven...being right with God...being a member
of the family of God...being on your way to heaven?
ANSSWER: To have all that and to KNOW FOR CERTAIN you
will never lose it!
I. THE ABSOLUTE NECESSITY OF THE NEW BIRTH - John
3:3, 5, 7
There is no possible way to enter the physical realm
except through the experience of a physical birth.
There is no possible way to enter into the spiritual
realm except through a spiritual birth. You must be
born again.
The New Testament has approximately 150 references
pointing out the necessity of the New Birth
experience.
George Whitefield, the great English evangelist in the
18th century, stirred England many times with his
revivals. A number of times he came to America.
Thousands were converted under his preaching. More
than 300 times he preached from the text, "Ye must be
born again." Someone asked him, "Whitefield, why do
you preach so often from that text?" Quick as a flash
came the reply, "Because ye MUST be born again!"
THE ABSOLUTE NECESSITY OF THE NEW BIRTH
The Two Kingdoms
Every person since Adam and Eve has entered the
physical kingdom through a Spiritual birth - There is
no other way to enter the physical kingdom. "Ye must
be born again." (John 3:7) We enter the Spiritual
kingdom through a physical birth.
II. SALVATION BY FAITH ALONE - Ephesians 2:8-9
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not
of yourself: it is the gift of God: Not of works,
lest any man should boast."
"Grace" is used 150 times in the New Testament.
"Faith" or a synonym of faith is used 305 times in the
New Testament in regard to salvation.
In the early part of the 16th century a Roman Catholic
priest by the name of Martin Luther studies his Greek
New Testament and discovered this doctrine. ...
