In these five Character Studies we will do a first person characterization of how it might have been with Joseph, Mary, the Shepherds, the Wisemen, and lastly Jesus. You can use these to characterizations to help your church go back to that first Christmas setting and grasp the emotions and the enormity of that sacred time in history. These five characterizations would be very useful if you dressed up or allowed someone else to dress up and have the moment narrated before your audience, letting them sense the emotions of the moment firsthand.

Character 4 ''The Wisemen''

My name is Carthazar; I am the chief servant to Gaspar, King of Sheba. I will never forget the night that all of the kings of the East had gathered together to study the stars, they had called a meeting due something miraculous was about to occur.

My master Gaspar was King of Sheba, his friends Melchior, King of Arabia, and Balthazar, King of Tarsus, Macedonia, and Egypt were all there night, among many other kings. It was literally a meeting of the brightest minds in the world. These men were well trained in astrology, in science, in religion, and in politics. Some of these men were Jews and they had been studying the Jewish manuscripts and they were expecting a miracle to occur in the heavens.

Thor, the astrology expert had read from the Jewish religious manuscripts about a baby that was to be borne by a virgin and that his star would appear in the heavens declaring that he had been borne.

Num 24:17 KJV - I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth.
