There have been so many times in my life where I've heard people say things like... ''I just don't feel close to Jesus.'' When I hear that, my immediate question is... ''Are you following Jesus?'' Because if you don't follow Jesus, you won't feel close to Jesus.

Your journey... your life... your decisions... and even your final destination... will all be determined by who you follow. There have been a few times in my life where I followed bad people. I surround myself with bad people. And you know what? I quickly became like those I followed.

In the same way, there have been other times when I followed good people... I surrounded myself with godly people... and as a result, I quickly became like those I followed.

The person you're becoming has much to do with the person you follow... and that's why Jesus said over and over again... ''Follow Me!''

When you look at the life of Christ and the words He spoke, you'll quickly discover that Jesus majored on this idea of people 'following' Him. In fact, that was His intention when He gave us the Great Commission:

Jesus wants followers from every nation, every tribe, and every tongue... so He told His followers to GO and make disciples, all over the world. And now, for over 2,000 years, that is exactly what Christians have done.

The church began in Acts chapter 2 with 120 followers in the Upper Room. They were praying and waiting until finally, the Holy Spirit came to them and gave them His presence and His power and new gifts that were designed to share the Gospel.

Soon after, 3,000 people converted to Christianity in one day, all across the city of Jerusalem and began following Jesus. By AD 100, it's estimated that this number had grown to over 25,000 followers.
