Boldness
''Not hesitating or fearful in the face of actual or possible danger or rebuff; courageous and daring.''
Boldness is one of the characteristics of the filling of the Holy Spirit. At the time of our salvation the Holy Spirit comes to live in us but the filling of the Holy Spirit is different. When we are filled by the Holy Spirit His power for Christian ministry and witness becomes available. With the filling of the Holy Spirit all things are possible. Without the filling of the Holy Spirit believers are on their own.
The Bible is clear that ours is not a physical conflict. Our warfare is spiritual in nature and without the filling of the Spirit believers will be spiritually weak and indecisive.
CHRISTIAN BOLDNESS IS THE PRODUCT OF BELIEVING PRAYER
29 Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word,
Having been freed from jail Peter and John went back to the church where the people gathered for a prayer meeting. There they prayed for and received boldness after being filled with the Holy Spirit. When was the last time you prayed for Christian boldness? Christian boldness is not the same thing as being loud and opinionated. We can be loud and opinionated about almost anything and usually it only results in others thinking we're obnoxious.
Does God want us to be bold in our witness for Christ? You bet He does! Here is something we can pray in confidence about. Don't beg for boldness - pray for it and claim it by faith and then put it into practice.
CHRISTIAN BOLDNESS IS THE NATURAL RESULT OF THE TRULY SUPERNATURAL
29 Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word,
30 by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.''
